Waiver of liability
1.A winner will be announced in each of the 4 categories. Of those 4 winners, an overall winner will be announced.
2.The overall winner will be the competitor with the highest score based on points awarded.
3.Judges will score competitors separately and will not discuss their scores with each other, but judges are permitted to discuss their scoring of the competitors at the end of the competition prior to deciding the results.
4.Score-sheets and comments will be made available to competitors upon request at the end of the competition.
5.A Sponsor’s Choice prize may be announced.
Semi pro
Amateur and Semi-Pro competitors can submit an entry.
If you place Semi-Pro you can continue to enter Semi-Pro comps.
If you win a Semi-Pro you move up to Professional.
If you place in a national Level Pro you move up to Professional.
If you place in a international Level Pro you move up to Professional.
If you compate National Level Pro you move up to Professional.
If you compate international Level Pro you move up to Professional.
Professional
Any level competitor is entitled to submit an entry for a Pro comp.
Once competing in National Level Pro comps you are no longer eligible for Amateur or Semi-Pro.
X-Factor and stage presence
In all categories, there are 10 points available for the overall entertainment factor. Contestants will be judged ontheir ability to entertain and engage the audience.
Pole Skill
In all categories, competitors will be judged on their control and execution of tricks. Competitors must be able to perform tricks and combinations with fluidity and control. Competitors with a high level of difficulty of tricks will score well only if they perform those tricks well.
Costume/Theme
All contestants will be judged on creativity and originality in costume and theme. The contestant’s choice of costume must be appropriate for their performance and enhance the story or theme of the performance. The theme must be consistent and relevant to the performance and/or the story.
Appropriateness of music choice and musical interpretation
In Pole Classique and Pole Art, contestants will be judged on their choice of music and how effectively they interpret their music.
Dance and floor work
In Pole Classique and Pole Art, judges will be looking for originality in sequences, smoothness in transitions and execution of dance and floorwork.
Storyline development
In Pole Drama, it is essential to tell a story. Judges will be looking for clarity in the message and story told in the performance.
Movement and use of stage
In Pole Drama and Pole Comedy, competitors are judged not on dance but on movement and use of stage.
Competitors should move confidently and with purpose, and effectively use the stage area.
Incorporation of striptease and sexy/sensual style movement into pole and floorwork In Pole Classique, competitors must demonstrate mastery of sensual/sexy movement and dance. Competitors are required to strip/remove at least one item of clothing, and will be judged on the “striptease” element. Competitors are required to wear heels. Competitors are permitted (but not required) to remove as many items of costume as they wish, down to G-strings and pasties.
